If you know me, you know that I literally have no skincare routine at all, sometimes I don't even bother to take my makeup off until the next morning, gross I know. I've just never had the time or need for a skincare routine, makeup wipes were my saviour and I felt no need to change. The other day I was in Tesco and everything L'Oreal was half price, so I thought why not, and picked up these two products to attempt to start a skincare routine.
At first I was quite excited to use these, I wanted something that would actually take off my makeup properly and leave it feeling fresh and clean because makeup wipes failed miserably at this.
Firstly, I tried the Skin Perfection Micellar Solution. I poured a small amount onto a cotton pad and wiped my makeup off, it took my makeup off and really did make my skin feel clean, but I wasn't overly wowed by it, but for the price of under £3 it'll do! Some people said they found that they wasted a lot of this product as you have to pour it out, not squeeze it out like other micellar solutions, but I didn't find this problem at all, I applied a perfect amount onto the cotton pad and didn't waste any at all.
After taking off most of my makeup using the Micellar Solution, I moved onto the Gentle Eye Makeup Remover, again pouring a small amount onto a cotton pad. I really was not impressed with this product, it didn't remove my eye makeup very well at all and made my face feel sticky and clogged. I ended up going back to the Micellar Solution to remove the rest of my eye makeup, which definitely worked a lot better.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend the Eye Makeup Remover, it just didn't remove my eye makeup like it claims to and just makes your face feel awful. However, I think the Micellar Solution is a great way to remove makeup, it's simple and easy, although I wasn't wowed by it I'll continue using it as it does the job and for the price I paid I think it's worth it.

I'm the same as you - no skin care routine! I try but always fall out of it :P xo

I've fallen out of it, oops! I just never have the time or I'm just too lazy x
DeleteYou should try the boots Bontaics eye makeup remover, I've got it and it's really good! I've been using it for about 5 months now and I'm almost empty!
ReplyDeleteI'm rubbish at taking my makeup off, but I've been trying to keep my makeup remover and cotton pads by my computer so I remember to remove it before going to bed!

I love loreal skincare, it wasn't until I was about 16/17 that I actually took skincare seriously which is awful, it is so hard to get into xx

DeleteI love the loreal micellar water but I love the garnier one more ;) definitely recommend that one!!
ReplyDeleteI've just bought the Garnier one, I'm really liking it, maybe more actually! x
DeleteI really liked this combo, especially the eye makeup remover :) I'm using the garnier one now but I'm not sure which one I prefer! xx

I'm not a massive fan of the eye makeup remover, I don't think it actually removes makeup that well! I'm using the Garnier one now as well :) x
DeleteI felt the same way about these products, I don't know what the hype was about. I use the Simple Cleansing Lotion to remove my makeup, it even removes waterproof mascara better than the Simple Eye Makeup remover, and it's just a cleanser! I also use makeup wipes, any old brand, and my two holy grail skincare products are the Lush Tea Tree Water and Grease Lightning. Hope this helped! :)
ReplyDeleteThe hype just isn't there for me, yes they're good but they don't stand out as wow products! I find cleansers remove makeup better than makeup removers! I love Lush for skincare too! x
DeleteI'm the same...so lazy with skincare, but I recently got some elemis goodies as a free gift with a debenhams order and i have seen a difference in my skin! I've always eyed these products up in boots, need to give them a try, I usually stick to Simple which are really nice xx

I just never find the time for skincare, I'd rather have an extra 15 minutes of sleep! Ooo Elemis are really good, I've never tried Simple though xx
