SMASHBOX COLOUR CORRECTING PRIMER

If you have a face that shows redness like mine, even through your foundation, you'll have been searching for a product that masks it a little to avoid the clown look. I think I may have found this product. Smashbox's Photo Finish Colour Correcting Blend Primer* is an apricot toned primer which evens out skin tone and counteracts discolouration and dark spots. Primer is a product I've always applied to my face but I could never actually tell you the purpose and why I was doing it, but it felt right so it's something I've always done. I think I've always just worn a really crap primer because I've never seen a difference. I've been using this primer for a month or so now and it has become my daily primer, except for the odd occasion that I use the original Photo Finish Primer.

The Colour Correcting Primer makes your skin look vibrant without making your makeup look cakey. I occasionally wear this primer without foundation when I'm in a rush and it makes my skin look so healthy, without looking oily. The wear time is incredible, it lasts all day long, throughout work and way into the evening. No touch ups are required which is a life saver for someone lazy like me. It smooths the skin, leaving a fresh silky base to apply your makeup too. I feel like my makeup always applies better when I prep the skin with primer.

This primer retails at £25.50 which may seem like a lot for a primer, but it is 100% worth it. You only need a pea sized amount to cover the whole face evenly, so it definitely lasts a lot longer than you think. This is a product I will be repurchasing again and again. I can't imagine applying my makeup without it, and I don't think I'll be finding a product to top it anytime soon. Smashbox are the queen of primers.

What's your favourite primer?

  5. Smashbox seems like one of those brands that not many people rave about anymore, but when someone writes about it, it seems so good! Their primer seems so good and would help with the redness my face sometimes gets xx
