My Skincare Routine

I'm not gonna lie, I've never really been that good with skincare. Although I've completely ditched the makeup wipes, it's an achievement if I take my makeup off before getting into bed and I very rarely go into a full routine. Since moving to Devon I haven't really worn a full face of makeup more than once a week so I never feel the need to indulge into my skincare routine which I know is very bad but I just forget all the time, or I just like my bed too much. I think we both know which of those is true.

I thought I'd share with you what my skincare routine looks like on a day that I actually complete it. My routine is not complex at all but it's enough to make my skin feel fresh and deeply cleansed.

Garnier Micellar Water | This is my favourite micellar water of all time. It's cheap, cheerful and it gets the job done quickly. I've tried so many others that take forever to remove eye makeup/heavy foundation and quite frankly I do not have time for that. This Garnier offering is also scent free which I find so helpful for the sensitive areas like the eyes as it doesn't sting like hell.

Lush 9 to 5 Cleanser | After a recommendation from the Lush Queen, Becky, I picked up this cleanser on our trip to Amsterdam. Yes it is in Dutch and I have no idea what the bottle says at all but we'll ignore that. I've never been a fan of cream cleansers as I never really knew what to do with them but a quick sweep of this over the face with a cotton pad works wonders at removing all the stubborn makeup/dirt that the micellar water couldn't.

Burts Bees Peach & Willow Bark Deep Pore Scrub* | If you know me you'll know I love my face scrubs. I have quite flaky skin, especially through the winter so getting rid of dead/dry skin is an essential part of my skincare routine. I have a range of favourite scrubs including Lush's Ocean Salt but at the moment this offering from Burts Bees is my favourite. I love the peachy smell and the fact that it isn't too rough on the skin but the exfoliating pieces are large enough to give a deep scrub. It leaves a smooth finish on the skin, perfect for the application of makeup.

La Roche Posay Hydraphase Intense Serum* | If you asked me last year what a serum did then I'd have looked at you cluelessly. Since I started blogging and getting more into skincare I've learnt so much and using this serum has worked wonders on my skin when it becomes dry and dehydrated. I love it's heavy gel like texture which is surprisingly lightweight and soothing on the skin.

Antipodes Vanilla Pod Hydrating Day Cream* | Antipodes are quickly becoming one of my favourite skincare brands, I own so many of their products now and I just can't get enough. Vanilla is my favourite scent so when I saw this Vanilla Pod Hydrating Day Cream I couldn't wait to try it. It's a very thick cream with a subtle scent which I like because it isn't overpowering like some creams can be. Due to the thick consistency, I actually prefer to apply it as overnight moisturiser. If I use it in the day I like to apply it a while before I apply my makeup to give it a chance to absorb as it sits quite heavy on the skin.

Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey Mask* | On my bad skin days I like to apply a mask to give my skin a little boost. My favourite at the moment is from Antipodes and it has to be their most raved about product, I finally got my hands on it recently and I can see why it's such a holy grail product. It doesn't set on the skin leaving it feeling tight, it's more of a deeply moisturising mask which I love because I always get worried when a face mask tightens on the skin as I think it's going to leave my skin so dry. This mask smells absolutely incredible and leaves the skin feeling so refreshed and moisturised. Not bad for a quick 15 minute mask!

What's your favourite skincare product at the moment?

*PR sample, but all opinions are 100% my own.
